An important Malvern School Arts and Crafts period wall clock, bearing a label to reverse for 'C. E. Jacob, Malvern School of Art', likely Charlotte Jacob (nee Hunton, d.1925), the enamels in the style of Alexander Fisher, the tapered rectangular case with moulded edge and turned dome applique, the face and side doors with applied white metal Art Nouveau whiplash flower design, the 17.7cm diameter dial with Roman numerals, the four polychrome enamel plaques depicting an elegant woman, fairy queen, a pixie sleeping in a flower, and two fairies amongst bird, eight day twin spring barrel movement with anchor escapement and a pierced and chased pendulum, 68cm high and 28cm wide

Dr Henry Jacob and Charlotte Jacob were an influential power couple of Malvern in the Victorian era. They lived in Great Malvern at St.Helens, likely Chartwell House. Charlotte Jacob was devoted to the study of art and even exhibited at The Royal Academy. She, for a long time, was secretary to Malvern Art Club, and took a great interest in the Malvern Art School.
